Megan Starr-Levitt received her master’s in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of music, a bachelor’s in voice from UC Irvine, and attended the prestigious Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara.
She performs regularly as a guest artist in concert and benefit performances around the country, and is a highly respected private voice instructor.
Megan has performed throughout the United States as Christine in the Broadway, National Tour, and San Francisco productions of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera under the direction of Hal Prince, as well as covering Christine in Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular.
Operatic roles include Emily in Ned Rorem’s Our Town with Opera Idaho, Musetta in La Boheme with San Francisco Conservatory Opera, Nanetta in Falstaff, Papagena in The Magic Flute, the Countess in Count Ory with West Bay Opera, and Esmeralda in The Bartered Bride with Pocket Opera in San Francisco.
Other musical theatre roles include Luisa in The Fantasticks with The South Coast Symphony, Maria in West Side Story, Young Heidi in Follies, Christine in Yeston and Kopit’s Phantom, and the title role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella with Sierra Repertory Theatre.
She recently performed the role of Sharon in Terrence McNally’s Tony-award winning play, Master Class, with Sierra Repertory Theatre. Solo oratorio performances include Mass of the Children and Requiem by Rutter, Mass in B minor by Bach, Psalm 42 by Mendelssohn, Mozart’s Requiem, as well as Vesperae Solemnes and Exultate Jubilate by Mozart, Bachianas Brazilieras No. 5 by Villa Lobos, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, and she was twice a soloist at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco in Handel’s Messiah.
